No place like home
errr.. or no place like a bit patch of dirt.
Well that's right ladies n germs, that picture is our actual house as of last weekend. Guess what? This weekend it will look the same. And so forth for a goodly month or so I'm sure. Can't wait til the concrete is poured.
That time of year where egg nog runs free, snow's on the ground, and the sounds of reindeer are tinkling on the rooftops. Well maybe not that part, but here are some snaps of Arwen's first Xmas party. The company's great, as they set up this event where all employees with kids can attend, they catalog all the kids, know roughly their ages, and will buy gifts for them accordingly! Given by the jolly ol' elf himself! Mind you, the Santa representative must have been hitting the Christmas Cheer perhaps a little too hard. He seemed pretty much like a cross between Robin Williams and Richard Simmons... on crack. At any rate, the event was fun.
Wow. Nutritionists keep saying that eating white rice is metabolicaly about the same as eating sugar. I believe it now.
We had been feeding Awen different fruits and vegetables when I thought to give her some grains. Let's give her some congee. Let me tell you, with a little chicken broth (homemade... no salt, no anything, just skinless chicken and water) mixed in, it tastes a lot better than infant rice cereal. She loved it! She ate everything I gave her!
Well, bedtime is about half an hour after dinner. We did everything as usual, but rather than falling asleep, she kept wriggling and flailing about. Oh no, I thought, she's overtired. Then I looked again. This was not the frustrated flailing of an overtired baby. This was "ohmygoshIhavesomuchenegyijusthavetomovemoreandmoreandfasterandfasterandfasterandwhi pmyarmsaroundandkickkickkick" K. and I couldn't help laughing. What else could we do? So we watched her go crazy for about half an hour. I swear, it was the most hilarious and cute scenario I have ever witnessed. :)
And then...... crash! Restless sleeing all night long. No more congee for awhile. At least not on its own.
Well... been using this neat little program called Sketchup that allows you to do quick architectural renderings. I did up the unfinished basement, on how I imagine it at least. Took a while, but I'm pretty happy. Have a nice big bathroom, bedroom, and of course.. HOME THEATAH!
